Gender & Society is a peer-reviewed academic journal that covers research in the field of gender studies. The editor-in-chief is Joya Misra (University of Massachusetts Amherst). It was established in 1987 and is currently published by SAGE Publications in association with Sociologists for Women in Society.

Abstracting and indexing[edit]

Gender & Society is abstracted and indexed in over 70 databases including Scopus and the Social Sciences Citation Index.[1] According to the Journal Citation Reports, its 2011 impact factor is 2.414, ranking it first out of 38 journals in the category "Women's Studies"[2] and 7 out of 137 journals in the category "Sociology".[3]
