Genome Valley is a Biopharmaceutical and Contract Research Organization zone spread across 600 km² in Hyderabad, India. Covering the suburbs - Shamirpet, Medchal, Uppal, Patancheru, Jeedimetla, Gachibowli and Keesara, the Valley has developed as a natural hub for biotech research, training and manufacturing activities.

Erstwhile Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics now based in Nampally, Hyderabad is Sun Microsystems's Center of Excellence in Medical Bioinformatics

Patancheru suburb houses International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics, which has one of the world’s largest Genebank repositories for the genetic resources of mandate crops

Gachibowli suburb houses Indian Immunologicals Limited, DuPont services center India and several multinational Contract Research Organizations

Biocluster

The Bio-cluster at Shamirpet has been systematically developed by the Government of Andhra Pradesh, to provide facilities to over 100 Biotechnology companies.

The IKP Knowledge Park^TM spread over 200 acres, is a joint initiative of ICICI Bank.It is the first of its kind knowledge-nurturing centre for the Indian companies and a knowledge gateway for multinational companies, has five Innovation Corridors. The first phase of Innovation Corridor I, comprising 10 laboratories, each of about 3,000 ft² (300 m²), is operational and fully occupied. The second phase of Innovation Corridor I, comprising 16 laboratory modules of 1,700 ft² (170 m²) each, is ready for operation.

The Alexandria Knowledge Park^TM spread over 300 acres, is developed in a Public Private Partnership mode. The Park has been successful in creating a vibrant cluster of life science companies - from large multinationals to start-ups. It accommodates advance research and development infrastructure in multiple formats like multi-tenanted research buildings, incubation facilities, built-to-suit blocks and industrial plots. The Park has been developed in two phases. Phase I covers approximately 145 acres and Phase II covers approximately 162 acres of land.
