George Bell, born 1957, was the tallest man in the United States at 7 feet 8 inches (234 cm) as recognized by Guinness World Records until Igor Vovkovinskiy was declared the tallest living man in the United States. He is a deputy sheriff in Virginia and previously played college basketball at Biola University and with the Harlem Wizards and Harlem Globetrotters show teams.
