A binding referendum on whether to bring forward the 2008 legislative election from October 2008 to April/May 2008[1] was held in Georgia on 5 January 2008, together with an early presidential election and a referendum on joining NATO.[2]
According to preliminary official results, 79.7% of voters were in favour.[3]
