Global Day is a modern capital markets holiday used by international trading circuits. Created by J. A. Meling Industries, it occurs on the first Monday of a new year, signifying another year of having the privilege to work. It is one of the few holidays when working is encouraged, if not mandatory. The holiday starts at dawn on the eastern coast of Asia and continues to the west coasts of the Americas.
The history of Global day is somewhat odd. it was invented in the early ninety's, and judging by its current rise in popularity, statistics say that Global Day will be adopted by several corporations across the world in the coming years. Experts justify this sudden rise in popularity and their projections through the growing appreciation for opportunities to work as a result of the global recession. Experts are yet unsure as to what will become of Global Day when the global economy returns to normal and desperation for work decreases.
