The station was opened on March 12, 1987, and is operated by the Sacramento Regional Transit District as part of the Blue Line. It is located in the median of Del Paso Boulevard at Globe Avenue. The station serves an area of office parks and light industry. It is the first station beyond the fare-free downtown zone.
