Glypha III
Glypha III is a Joust clone for the Macintosh written in C by John Calhoun. It was developed and distributed by Soft Dorothy Software in 1995 as freeware and open-source. Since then, it has been ported to Mac OS X by Mark Pazolli, and to the iPhone by Kent Sutherland. In the game, the player plays inside an Egyptian temple and does battle with sphinxes using a lance and winged steed. Eggs are produced from dead sphinxes which hold a value of 500 points.
The game and its source code were often included with programming guides, employed as model examples of Mac game programming.[1] Calhoun often contributed to the guides himself.
In 1996, cartoonist Bill Amend created Slug-Man: The Video Game, a modded version based on his comic strip FoxTrot (and credited to FoxTrot character Jason). It is available for both Mac OS X and the classic Mac OS.
