Gonbad-e Qabus County (Persian: شهرستان گنبد کاووس‎) is a county in Golestan Province in Iran. Formerly called Gorgan or jorjan, because of the ruins of the historical city called Gorgan, the capital of "Ziyarid dynasty", in its south west corner. Before that it was called "Hyrcania".
