[edit] History

Gongwer was founded in 1906 by Charles S. Gongwer, then a Statehouse correspondent for the Cleveland Plain Dealer. In 1961, the company expanded operations to Michigan, when it began publishing the award-winning Michigan Report.

The company's services have evolved in the digital age, providing subscribers with real-time news and information about legislation, government and politics in two of the nation's most important states.
