Gordon Van Tighem is a Canadian politician. Born in Calgary, Alberta, he is a graduate of the University of Manitoba. He moved to Yellowknife from Edmonton in 1992 with his family. He is the former mayor of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, and was elected in October 2000, and he was acclaimed in 2003 and again in 2006 and won against two rival candidates in 2009. He did not seek re-election in 2012.
