Göteborg Landvetter Airport (IATA: GOT, ICAO: ESGG) is an international airport serving the Gothenburg region in Sweden. With 5.0 million passengers in 2013 it is Sweden's second-largest airport after Stockholm–Arlanda. It is operated by Swedavia, the national airport company, and is Gothenburg's biggest international airport ahead of Gothenburg City Airport.
The airport was opened in 1977. Passenger services, previously at Torslanda Airport, north of Gothenburg, were moved to Landvetter in 1977. Later, some budget airlines began serving the former military base in Säve, which was renamed from Säve Flygplats to Gothenburg City Airport.
There are plans to build a shortcut on the railway Gothenburg–Borås with a tunnel and a railway station under the airport. Construction start is planned to be 2020 and operation estimated by 2023.
Landvetter Airport has traditionally had two terminals, domestic and international, even though all check-in is made in the international terminal now, since all luggage has to be screened. Also all luggage delivery is since 2014 done in the international terminal. The transfer area, which has several shops, cafés, and a restaurant, is accessible for all passengers since that year. So in reality there is one terminal, even if there are separate entrances to the transfer area for domestic and international departures.
There are eight air bridges, at gate 12-17, 19, and 20. There are also gates for airside bus transfer, called gate 10–11, 18A–18G and 21A–21D. Traditionally gates 10-15 were strictly for domestic flights but now flights can be placed more flexibly. There is an outside-Schengen Area with strict passport check. The gates 20 and 21A–21D belong to this area. The gate 19 can flexibly be inside or outside Schengen. The freight terminal uses gate numbers below 10.
Airlines and destinations
Landvetter is an important freight airport. During 2007, 60,100 tonnes of air cargo passed through Landvetter, about 60% of the capacity of Arlanda. Unlike Arlanda and other big airports there is no lack of landing slots.

Flygbussarna and Swebus takes passengers to the city of Gothenburg in 20 minutes, and in 30 minutes to Gothenburg Central station. Swebus takes passengers to the city of Borås in 25 minutes, and in 30 minutes to Borås Central station.
The road distance to Gothenburg is 25 kilometres (16 mi) and to Borås 40 kilometres (25 mi), both via the Riksväg 40 motorway. To go northeast to Alingsås and beyond, the official route is via Partille. Most locals use a 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) shorter shortcut between Härryda and Lerum signposted "Härskogen". It is poorly signposted since the road authority wants to avoid too much traffic on this narrow and curvy road. There are 7,300 parking spaces at the airport.
There is a hotel 350 metres (1,150 ft) from the terminal.
A shopping center is under construction 1 km from the airport.
