Graham Simpson (born 13 October 1943, Manchester, Lancashire) was a founding member of Roxy Music, and friend of Bryan Ferry - he was part of the band as a bassist when they recorded their first album Roxy Music in 1972, and on which his bass notes especially made most distinctive contributions to the tracks 'Ladytron' and 'Chance Meeting'. However not long after the album was released, ostensibly to recover from mental fatigue, Simpson was given an open ended choice to remain or leave by Ferry, pending consideration to how dedicated he could be to nascent Roxy . He later went to India to follow Sufism.[1]
