Gravelotte is a small town situated in the east of the Limpopo province of South Africa. Nearby towns include Tzaneen to the west, Hoedspruit to the south-east and Phalaborwa to the east. It is likely that the town was named after the town of Gravelotte in France.[2]

Gravelotte is located in the north of South Africa, in the east of the Limpopo province. It lies roughly half way in between the towns of Phalaborwa and Tzaneen, is located just west of Kruger national park and is about 5 hours drive from Johannesburg.

Gravelotte is located on the R71 route, and Gravelotte railway station connects the town to Mica, Hoedspruit, Acornhoek and Kaapmuiden to the south, and connects to Tzaneen, Duiwelskloof and Soekmekaar to the north.
