[edit] Geography

Greenpatch is located on Aboriginal Land within the Booderee National Park, an area which is leased back to the crown under a formal arrangement between the director of National Parks and the Wreck Bay Aboirginal Community Council (WBACC). It is within close proximity to HMAS Creswell which borders Jervis Bay Village. Greenpatch Beach is claimed to possess Australia's whitest sand and is approximately 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi) long. To the south of Greenpatch Beach are North Darling Point and Little Darling Beach (15 metres long). To the south of South Darling Point is North Darling Beach (1.2 kilometres), which transforms into a small patch of rocks called South Darling Beach.

[edit] Wildlife

Greenpatch is home to many different kinds of Australian native flora and fauna, including kangaroos, kookaburras, rosellas, lories, lorikeets, wombats and many more. However, after many years of human interaction and especially feeding of the wildlife, it is not uncommon to be attacked by wildlife in search of food. It is for this reason that feeding the wildlife is now forbidden at Greenpatch, as well as many other parts of the Jervis Bay area.
