Grootfontein Airport (IATA: GFYICAO: FYGF) is an airport serving Grootfontein, a city in the Otjozondjupa Region of Namibia. The airport is about 4 km (2 mi) south of the center of Grootfontein.[3] It was formerly a military air base for the South African Air Force.

Facilities[edit]

The airport resides at an elevation of 4,636 feet (1,413 m) above mean sea level. It has two asphalt paved runways: 08/26 measuring 3,560 by 45 metres (11,680 ft × 148 ft) and 17/35 measuring 1,040 m × 30 m (3,412 ft × 98 ft).[1]
