Wolfenstein is a franchise of World War II fantasy-themed computer and video games first developed by Muse Software and followed up by id Software.[1] Later games in the series by id Software follows an American soldier named William "B.J." Blazkowicz.

The first in the series was Castle Wolfenstein, a 2D adventure game released on the Apple II, written by Silas Warner, and was followed up by Beyond Castle Wolfenstein.[1] This was further followed up by Wolfenstein 3D.
