Grupo de Ações Táticas Especiais (Portuguese for Special Actions and Tactics Group), mostly known by its acronym GATE, is a special force of São Paulo and Minas Gerais military police. Being a tactical-natured force, their mission is rescue hostages and disarming bombs. It is the São Paulo police force with similar status and training as the U.S. S.W.A.T.
