Guachochi is a one of the 67 municipalities of Chihuahua, in northern Mexico. The municipal seat lies at Guachochi. The municipality covers an area of 4,340.35 km².

It was created by the State Congress on 31 December 1962, with its escision from the municipality of Batopilas.

As of 2005, the municipality had a total population of 45,881.[1]
