Gurmatkal (Kannada: ಗುರುಮಠಕಲ್, gurumathakal) is a panchayat town in Yadgir district in the Indian state of Karnataka.

As of 2001[update] India census,[1] Gurumathakal had a population of 16,927. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Gurmatkal has an average literacy rate of 50%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 60%, and female literacy is 40%. 15% of the population is under 6 years of age. It is located 155 km from Hyderabad, Gurmatkal is famous by An Ayurvedic Hospital specialized for only curing Paralysis Patients. It can be reached by bus station or nearest railway station is Yadgir.
