Hägersten borough

Hägersten was a so called borough (stadsdelsområde) in the southern part of Stockholm until January 1, 2007. It was primarily made up of Hägersten (a part of which was organized in Liljeholmen borough). The other districts that made up the borough were Fruängen, Hägerstensåsen, Mälarhöjden and Västertorp. The population as of 2004 was 29,322 on an area of 6.25 km², giving it a density of 4,692/km². In 2007, Hägersten merged with the borough of Liljeholmen to form the Hägersten-Liljeholmen borough.
