HGC (field hockey)

HGC is the acronym of the field hockey club H.O.C. Gazellen-Combinatie, which is located on the border of Wassenaar and The Hague in The Netherlands. The club was founded on September 22, 1906.
The first teams (men and women) compete for many years on the highest level of the Dutch field hockey league, which is called "Hoofdklasse". In 1995/'96 both the men's and the women's first team won the national championship. HGC always has provided the Dutch national teams with one or more players. The first women's team of HGC relegated to the first division ("Overgangsklasse") in the spring of 2005.
