H is the twenty-seventh single released by Ayumi Hamasaki on July 24, 2002. The single included three A-sides, and was the top-selling single of 2002 in Japan and the only one to sell over a million copies that year.[2] To commemorate hitting the million mark in sales, this single was re-released as a special limited edition on November 7, 2002.

Ayumi co-composed the three tracks with D.A.I under her pseudonym Crea. No music videos were shot to promote the single.

"Hanabi" was used in a TV ad for a mobile phone and "July 1st" was the image song for a lipstick commercial. Ayumi appeared in both commercial campaigns. "Independent" was used as a Baseball Cheer.
