Half Past Four are a Canadian progressive rock band founded in Toronto by two guitarists, Dmitry Lesov and Constantin Necrasov, in 1999. Having passed through several lineup changes, the band has recently released its debut album Rabbit in the Vestibule. The band is known for its merging various musical styles, as well as composing in odd, often poly-rhythmic, time signatures.

In 2006 they were offered to score a horror-comedy motion picture The Mad. The band took on the job and in October that year composed and recorded more than 40 minutes of original music in various genres, including 80's new-wave, country, and thrash-metal.

A December 2006 Half Past Four started to work on recording their first full-length album. The recording took place in several locations, including band members' residences, Rob Hicks Overdrive studios, Media Platforms Studio, as well as Half Past Four headquarters. The recording process was completed in Summer 2007. The band then started looking for and trying out candidates for the position of the sound engineer. In early March 2008, Juno-Award winner Jono Grant was hired to mix and master the album, which he did shortly thereafter. Half Past Four's first album was officially released on October 25, 2008.
