Rugby union career
Alexander made his international debut on 3 February 1900 at Athletic Ground, Richmond in the England vs Ireland match. Of the 7 matches he played for his national side he was on the winning side on 2 occasions. He played his final match for England on 8 February 1902 at Welford Road, Leicester in the England vs Ireland match.
