Harshad Prakash Chopra is an Indian television actor.[1] He was born on May 17, 1983 in Gondia, a town near Nagpur in Maharashtra, but later moved to Pune. Chopra made his debut in Zee TV's Mamta, followed by Left Right Left and the short-lived Amber Dhara. His main lead role has been in Balaji Telefilms' Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil, where he played Prem Juneja. After a few months he came back again with Balaji's Tere Liye.

Harshad Prakash Chopra born on 17th May 1983 is a Marwari Jain and hails from Gondia in the Gondia district of Maharashtra.His family moved to Pune after he completed his class 12 exams. Chopra's parents never approved of his aspiration to become an actor so they enrolled him for an Engineering degree in Modern College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Pune. Chopra has said that, "I only did engineering because my parents asked me to do so. However, I was clear in my mind as to what I wanted." He has a younger sister.

After his studies, Chopra moved to Bombay and successfully auditioned for Zee TV's Mamta. Chopra played the negative role of Karan Srivastav in Mamta. His first prominent role was in SAB TV's serial Left Right Left where he played the character of Cadet Ali Baigh which got him into the actual limelight. And he earned rave reviews for playing innocent, man of principles, Ali Baigh. Followed by his success as Cadet Ali Baigh, on popular demand of fans he went on portraying a romantic light hearted character of Akshat Malhotra in Amber Dhara on Sony. However it turned out to be short stint due to circumstances, he was forced to leave the show.
After remaining off screen for a while Chopra was cast for his critically acclaimed performance as Prem Juneja in Balaji Telefilms' eternal love story Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil on Star Plus.
After Kis Desh, Harshad Chopra made his comeback with Star Plus's project Tere Liye also produced by Balaji Telefilms, opposite his co-star Anupriya Kapoor. And like his previous show actor went on creating another history of success with his character Anurag Ganguly and his Jodi with Anupriya Kapoor became instant hit, adding itself into the list of 'Most Wanted Jodis' onscreen. The show became the first show ever to garner such ratings in the very first episode and turned out into the biggest hit of his career getting him his first award as Best Actor for the brilliant portrayal of Anurag Ganguly. The show however was unable to complete a year and was pulled off air even with good ratings due to the issues between Production house and Channel. But still even after the show being off air, the character of Anurag Ganguly is widely cherished by all and the Jodi of Harshad and Anupriya or "HarshIya" as called by their fans is still loved by all .
Currently Harshad is playing Mohan Gala in Imagine TV's primetime serial Dharampatni The show is a love story between Mohan and his wife Kastur, played by Aasiya Kazi. His character is said to be loosely inspired from Mahatma Gandhi. Even though show could not do well but his character Mohan Gala became widely popular making him one of the most successful actor in Indian Television
