Heavy MTL is a two-day heavy metal and hard rock festival in Montreal, Quebec, at Parc Jean-Drapeau on Île Sainte-Hélène held in the summer. It is one of the largest Heavy Metal festivals with usually around 40,000 people attending each year. More than 44,000 people attended the 2012 edition. The name Heavy MTL serves both as an abbreviation for Montreal and Metal.

Since the first edition in 2008, Heavy MTL has seen some of the world biggest heavy metal legends such as Iron Maiden, Mötley Crüe, Disturbed, Dethklok, Rob Zombie, Korn, Avenged Sevenfold, Slayer, Megadeth, Alice Cooper, KISS, Motörhead, Godsmack, In Flames, Slipknot, Marilyn Manson, Deftones, System of a Down and many others.

In 2011, a similar event, Heavy T.O., was created at Downsview Park in Toronto, Ontario. Both events are held the same weekends, with most bands playing one day in Montreal and the other in Toronto.

Due to the high number of metal live shows performed in Montreal during the year (Metallica, AC/DC, KISS, Dream Theater, Marilyn Manson, Motörhead and many more) it was announced that the festival would not take place in 2009 and return in 2010.
