Overview[edit]

Further information: Help:Cite link labels

In-text cite link labels can be customized by using a group name that calls a custom label page. See Wikipedia:Manual of Style (footnotes)/Cite link labels for details.

Issues and resolution[edit]

The number of references using the group name exceeds the number of labels.

The labels were defined without a space separating each label.

Examples[edit]

This example uses the label style "error-test", a style used only for testing:

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua.[first] Ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco laboris nisi ut aliquip ex ea commodo consequat.[second] Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua.[last!] Ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco laboris nisi ut aliquip ex ea commodo consequat.[[#cite_note-4|[Cite error: Ran out of custom link labels for group "error-test" (see the help page). ]]]
