Herbal Essences is a brand of shampoo, hair conditioner, hair stylers, and hair coloring by Clairol. The brand was founded in 1972. There are twelve collections of product, each designed for a different effect on the user's hair. They are the following:
- Hello Hydration™, designed to hydrate hair.
- Tousle Me Softly™, designed to create a tousled look.
- Totally Twisted™, designed for wavy or curly hair.
- Touchably Smooth™, designed to silken hair.
- Honey, I'm Strong™, designed to strengthen hair.
- Hydralicious™, designed to hydrate hair.
- Dangerously Straight*, designed to straighten hair.
- Color Me Happy™, designed for color-treated hair.
- Long-Term Relationship™, designed for long hair.
- None Of Your Frizziness™, designed to smooth hair and prevent frizzy hair. there is also one for damaged hair/ split ends
- Body Envy™, designed to volumize hair.
- Drama Clean™, designed for oily or dirty hair.
- Set Me Up Stylers™, designed to hold your hairdo in place.
The brand was reintroduced in 1995 when they launched their "Yes!" commercials. Famous late 1990s-early 2000s commercials featured Ruth Westheimer, in which she would let her try their body wash. In 2001, Fruit Fusions was introduced. In September 2003, they introduced a new formula line containing Hawafena. The brand was reintroduced in 2006, featuring scent names similar to Ben & Jerry's flavor names. The 1995 formulas were reintroduced in 2013, this time improved, bringing back a new version of the "Yes!" commercial set on an airplane.
