Herbertpur is located at 30°27′N 77°44′E / 30.45°N 77.73°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 427 metres (1,401 feet).

As of 2011[update] India census,[2] Herbertpur had a population of 19242. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Herbertpur has an average literacy rate of 69%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 75%, and female literacy is 63%. In Herbertpur, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.

This place is also known for Lehman hospital, which was set by Christian missionary Dr Lehman to provide necessary medical care to the nearby villages and hilly people of Jaunsar Bawar and Himachal Pradesh and also to promote Christianity in the area and Sikhs too.
