[edit] Boundaries
This seat forms a thin strip along the south-west border of Hertfordshire from South Oxhey (near Watford) in the south, through the countryside areas of Bovingdon and Berkhamsted to Tring in the north. Other towns in the constituency include Chipperfield, Chorleywood, Croxley Green, Moor Park, and Rickmansworth.
[edit] Constituency Profile
Bordering Greater London and Buckinghamshire, this corner of Hertfordshire is mostly middle-class surburbia, and is a haven for commuters who travel in daily from the outer reaches of London Underground's Metropolitan Line.
Further from London, in the North of the seat, the brewing town of Tring is the most glamorous part, while Chorleywood is extremely affluent - its West ward was rated 8413 out of 8414 for deprivation in IMD2000.
Following the 2010 election, every seat in Hertfordshire had a Conservative MP, and South West Herts was the third safest of these.
