High Point Regional High School is a comprehensive four-year public high school and school district, which serves students from five municipalities in Sussex County, New Jersey. As of January 16, 2007, the school served 1,362 students from the five municipalities of Branchville Borough (42.5 students), Frankford Township (335 students), Lafayette Township (142.5 students), Sussex Borough (113.5 students) and Wantage Township (726.5 students), along with two non-resident student.[2][3]
As of the 2005-06 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,390 students and 112.3 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 12.4.[1]
The high school was established in 1963 and is located in Wantage Township. The school is accredited by the New Jersey Department of Education.
The school was the 157th-ranked public high school in New Jersey out of 316 schools statewide, in New Jersey Monthly magazine's September 2008 cover story on the state's Top Public High Schools. The school was ranked 151st in the magazine's September 2006 issue, which surveyed 316 schools across the state.[4]
The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "DE", the fifth highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.[5]

[edit] Curriculum and achievement
The 2006 graduating class had average SAT Critical Reading scores of 497 (compared to statewide and nationwide averages of 496 and 503 respectively), average Math scores of 515 (versus 515 and 518 in New Jersey and nationwide, respectively), and an average Writing score of 489 (versus 496 and 497 in New Jersey and nationwide, respectively).
High Point Regional High School offers many different classes, including music, theater, media, technology, art, graphic design, web design, computers, computer programming, retail marketing, advertising, sales and architecture.

For the 1997-98 school year, High Point Regional High School received the Blue Ribbon Award from the United States Department of Education, the highest honor that an American school can achieve.[6]
The school was recently ranked first of fifty-three schools in the state in the "DE" District factor group by The Star-Ledger and second in the DFG by New Jersey Monthly Magazine.

- High Point Regional High School, in partnership with faculty, family and community, is dedicated to the quest for individual excellence. By fostering high standards of achievement, we prepare students to become responsible and productive members of a diverse society.
[edit] Athletics
High Point competes in the Northwest Jersey Athletic Conference a high school athletic conference located in Sussex County and Morris County. The league under the auspices of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA), the statewide organization for high school sports.
The wrestling team won its first ever state championship against Sayreville War Memorial High School 63-3. This is High Point's second team state championship overall in all sports.[citation needed] The wrestling team won the 2006 North I, Group III state sectional championship with a 46-10 against Paramus High School.[7] The 2007 team repeated the title with a 50-18 win vs. Mount Olive High School.[8]
The field hockey team won the North I, Group III sectional title in 2002 with a 4-0 shutout against West Morris Central High School in the tournament final.[9]
