[edit] Section 1

Arkansas Highway 5 is a state highway of 46.1 miles (74.2 km) in Garland, Saline, and Pulaski Counties.[1][2][3]

AR 5 begins north of Hot Springs at AR 7. It runs north until meeting AR 298, which starts a concurrency that runs until Crows. After Crows, AR 5 runs as the Hot Springs Highway until becoming a frontage road for I-30/US 67/US 70. Crossing into Pulaski County, AR 5 becomes Stagecoach Road and crosses over I-430. The route continued until a junction with AR 300 and becomes Colonel Glenn Road. AR 5 continues into Little Rock, terminating at S. University Ave./US 70 BUS.

[edit] Section 2

Arkansas Highway 5 known as Main Street Bridge, crosses the Arkansas River to connect Little Rock with the city of North Little Rock.[3] It is not signed.

[edit] Section 3

Arkansas Highway 5 is a state highway of 146 miles (235 km) in North Central Arkansas.[3][4][5][6][7][8][9] The route runs north to Route 5, which then runs across Missouri becoming Iowa Highway 5. A portion of this highway is designated as part of the Sylamore Scenic Byway.[10]

[edit] Route description

AR 5 begins at US 67/167 south of Cabot and runs north to cross AR 89 and AR 319. The route continues north to meet US 64 south of El Paso and AR 310 near Romance. AR 5 and AR 310 form a concurrency that runs until AR 36 in Rose Bud. AR 5 continues north to Heber Springs, where it meets AR 16/AR 25. AR 5 runs with AR 25 around Heber Springs, intersecting AR 110/AR 210. AR 5/AR 25 run together until Wolf Bayou, when AR 5 begins to run with AR 87, named Mountain View Road.

The two routes meet AR 14 in front of the Stone County Medical Center in south Mountain View. AR 5/AR 14/AR 87 run briefly west to Sylamore Avenue, when they meet AR 9. AR 5/AR 9/AR 14 run north through town to Allison, when AR 5 continues northward alone. Passing through the Ozark National Forest, AR 5 emerges near Calico Rock. The route takes a turn northwest, concurring with AR 177 near Norfolk. Entering Mountain Home, AR 5 crosses US 62 southeast of town. AR 5 becomes 9th Street, meeting US 412/US 62 BUS/AR 101 in downtown Mountain Home. The route continues northwest to Midway, after which it heads north to the Missouri state line. AR 5 terminates at Route 5.
