H2 (abbreviation for History 2), formerly History International (abbreviated HI), is a digital cable and satellite television channel that features historical documentaries, traditionally with an international focus. H2 offers over 200 hours of original programming; the network's current program schedule consists of reruns of documentary programming previously seen on sister channel History primarily from the mid-2000s onward, but not including the channel's reality television series.

[edit] H2 HD
H2 HD is a 720p high definition simulcast of the channel launched in mid-November 2009. It is available nationally on AT&T U-verse and Dish Network; as well as regionally on Time Warner Cable, Bright House Networks, Comcast, Mediacom, Suddenlink and Cox Communications. [1]
[edit] Rebrand
On September 26, 2011, History International was rebranded as H2, with the new slogan "More 2 History". The newly branded channel airs documentary content from The History Channel prior to its transition to reality programming, original programs, such as the special The Universe: Beyond the Big Bang, as well as exclusive new episodes of the former History series The Universe, Ancient Aliens, and Modern Marvels. The channel is also home to a new original series entitled America's Book of Secrets[2]
H2 will maintain its current focus on documentary and international-themed programming, and does not have plans to add reality television shows as its parent channel has.[3] Newer documentaries more recently seen on History have been brought to the channel in the rebrand, at which will rotate with the HI documentaries that primarily spanned from the mid-1990s to the mid-2000s.
[edit] Former programming
Prior to the rebrand, History International also occasionally featured shows in a language other than English, such as French or Spanish for use with the National Cable & Telecommunications Association's Cable in the Classroom initiative. As of 2010, only one hour daily on weekday mornings was dedicated to El Canal de Historia (English: The History Channel), a Spanish language program. It has been removed with the rebrand.
