History of America? is an album created by Liam Lynch and Matt Crocco. In the framing sequence, Lynch plays Uncle Dr. Sam, an enthusiastic and patriotic inventor, and Croco plays Ross, seemingly a disaffected American teen. Uncle Dr. Sam meets Ross in an arcade and is sad to find that his new friend doesn't know what his favorite country is ("Uncle Doctor Sam Meets Ross"). Uncle Dr. Sam has discovered that time travels up and down, and he's invented a 4-D Time Resonator Elevator to explore the timestream. One can ride the elevator down into the past or up into the future, and Uncle D. Sam soon whisks Ross away on a journey of discovery into the past ("History of America").
They witness George "You may have seen me on the Dollar Bill" Washington and his wife Martha meeting Big Chief Bad Weather and the native Pilgrim tribes who've been already living in the new land that the Washingtons and their friends have just discovered. The Chief takes a fancy to Mrs. Washington and lets her sit on his lap during dinner, cementing their friendship ("George Meets the Pilgrims").
They continue down and learn about America's "Four Fathers". They learn about Abraham Lincoln, known for his famous speeches ("Abe's Speech"), Ansel Adams, who was planting corn for the orphans of the world ("Ansel Adams' Theme Song"), Harry Houdini, America's first native Italian and father of the Second Revolution ("Harry Houdini Book Report"), and Davey Crocket, a businessman and a thief with an army of vampire cyber-slaves ("The Davey Crocket Toll Road"). The Four Fathers, who've been colonizing the country from all four points meet in battle in the center, each one trying to guide the destiny of the new lands ("The Battle of Woodstock"). Luckily, George Washington intervenes, calling in his friend Ben Franklin to come in and rock some sense into the others ("Ben Franklin Kicks Ass").
When peace now reigning, the emerging country finds a name ("We'll Call It America"), makes a flag ("Stars Und Stripes of America"), and avoids various disasters, including a swarm of killer bees ("The Statue of Liberty") and battles between the police and the Lightning Mafia ("Electrician's Day").
Having virtually returned to the present by this time, Ross encourages Uncle Dr. Sam to see what the Elevator was capable of and fly way up into the future. They go too far and come to a point in the future where America is gone. They discover a satellite with a recorded message that tells of America's demise when it was hit by an asteroid ("Recorded Message".) Uncle D. Sam asks Ross what he thinks of America now, and Ross admits that he pretty much doesn't remember anything they just talked about. Disheartened, Uncle Dr. Sam drags Ross back to the beginning to do it all over again, this time asking him to pay attention. Ross snorts and replies, "Whatever." ("United States of Whatever")
