The History of Education Quarterly is a quarterly peer-reviewed academic journal covering the history of education. It is published by Wiley-Blackwell Publishing on behalf of the History of Education Society.

From 1949 to 1959 it was published as the History of Education Journal, which was replaced by the History of Education Quarterly in 1961.[1] At the time, Ryland W. Crary (University of Pittsburgh) became the editor-in-chief. He was succeeded by Henry J. Perkinson, Paul H. Mattingly, James McLachlan, Edward McClellan, William J. Reese, Richard J. Altenbaugh, and James D. Anderson.[1]
