The Hobart Remand Centre is a prison facility located in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. The prison was opened in January 1999. All cells contain central heating, a shower, toilet and hand basin. The prison connects directly to the Hobart Police Station and also to the courts reducing prisoner movement. There was a prisoner riot in January 2007.[1]
