Hockanum is a neighborhood in southwest East Hartford, Connecticut. The area is named after the Hockanum River, and has an elementary school of the same name. Although many beautiful colonial homes exist in the area, the neighborhood has deteriorated in recent years due to extensive housing projects[citation needed].
