A home run is a play in the sport of baseball.
Of the many thousands of major league baseball players over 130 years, a small number have accomplished this feat on their final appearance at bat in their careers. Some of these players are well-known (most notably Mickey Cochrane and Ted Williams, who are members of the Baseball Hall of Fame) while many are otherwise little known, and who just happened to hit the ball well in their final turns at the plate.
Paul Gillespie and John Miller are the only players in MLB history to hit home runs in their first and last big league at bats.
