Hormizd VI or V, twenty-eighth Sassanid King of Persia, was one of the many pretenders who rose after the murder of Khosrau II (590–628) in 628. He maintained himself about two years (631–632) in the district of Nisibis. There was also a brief usurper king, not always numbered among the monarchs, called Hormizd V in 593.
