[edit] History

Hotwire's members met in high school; after recording a few demos, they scored slots opening for California dates of bands like Incubus, Linkin Park, Hoobastank, and Audiovent.[1] They signed with RCA Records in December 2000, and released a four-track EP in 2002 before issuing their full-length The Routine in the summer of 2003. They followed the release of the album with a slot on the Ozzfest tour that year.[1] A single from the album, "Not Today", was a hit on American rock radio, peaking at #40 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart.[2] The band broke up soon after the Ozzfest tour citing both professional and personal reasons.

[edit] Members

Gabe, Rus and Brian are now under Coming Home Records and all participate in their projects.

[edit] Discography

There was also never released version of The Routine album, which was recoded during recording sessions in 2001/2002 and was to be released in 2002. The release of this version of the album was canceled because of leak of the album to the Internet. Only one song of this record, Prostetics of Steel, has later appeared on Japan version of The Routine album as bonus song. All other songs were turned down and whole album was re-recorded in late 2002 with totally different track list and then released in 2003.
