Imeretinsky (Georgian: იმერეტინსკი; Russian: Имеретинский) is a title and later the surname of the Georgian royal family branch of the royal Bagrationi dynasty of Kingdom of Imereti.[1]

Solomon II of Imereti was the last Georgian king of Kingdom of Imereti until it was annexed by Russian Empire in 1810.

The name "Imeretinsky" (also spelled Imeretinski, or Imeretinskii) derives from Russian, originally and literally meaning "of Imereti".

Survival of royal dynasty after 1810[edit]

  • Princess Nino Bagrationi (1915-2009), former head of House of Imereti. President of the Bagration Society. She supported the claims of Prince Nugzar Bagration-Gruzinsky[2] on the Georgian throne. (It is extinct in male line)
  • Prince David Bagrationi (born 1948), another head of House of Imereti. (Illegitimate line which continues in male line.)[3]
