House of Progon

The House of Progon was the first Albanian dynasty ever, ruling the Principality of Arbër for 26 years. First ruler of Albanians, Progon self-proclaimed the Prince of Arberia in 1190 and was later succeeded by his sons Gjin and Dhimitër. The principality reached its heyday during the reign of the latter. The dynasty came to an end in 1216.
