The Houston Science Fiction Society (HSFS) was the second major science fiction club in Texas, USA, after the Dallas Futurians. SF fans in Dallas started in 1953 the first SF club in Texas, the Dallas Futurians, which had an adventurous life for seven years and ended in 1960.
The Houston Science Fiction Society was founded in 1965 and lasted until 1980. The HSFS still continues as a breakfast club today that has met since 1983.
