Hurffville Elementary School is one of the oldest schools in the Washington Township Public School District in Washington Township, in Gloucester County, New Jersey. Built in 1957, Hurffville was designed as an open-air environment school. The school originally housed kindergarten through 6th grades, but as population increased, it was reduced to 2nd through 6th and then 2nd through 5th grades. In 1988, the school had hallways installed.
The school received New Jersey's "Governor's School of Excellence" award in 2005. [1]
