I. P. Gautam

I. P. Gautam is an 1986 batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre. He is the municipal commissioner of the city of Ahmedabad, in the state of Gujarat, India,[1] having replaced Anil Mukim in 2006.

Gautam was the collector of Vadodara district in 1995. He was Secretary, Ports and Transport ministry in the Gujarat government before being appointed as the municipal commissioner of Ahmedabad in 2006.

Mr I P Gautam was Rajkot municipal commissioner prior to his appointment as Baroda collector. Later he was with the Gujarat Chief Minister's Office as the top bureaucrat. He was also in charge of the SSP, the Sardar Sarovar Project, dubbed as the lifeline of Gujarat, on the Narmada river.

Early Life I.P. Gautam was born in a remote village of Deoria District in Uttar Pradesh. He fought with financial issues in his early life to be an IAS officer deemed as the highest level of public service in government organization
