"I Can't Stand Up for Falling Down" is a song by Sam & Dave released in 1967,[1] written by Homer Banks and Allen Jones.
British musician Elvis Costello covered the song in 1980 for his album Get Happy!!. It was one of 3 singles taken from the album in the UK and peaked at number four. It became one of Costello's most popular songs from the 1980s.[citation needed] It was supposed to be released on the 2 Tone Records label, but even though copies were pressed, contractual difficulties eventually halted its release.
