The first Ibis opened in Bordeaux in 1974 [1], while the newest Ibis hotel (the 900th) opened in January 2012 in Samara, Russia.
[edit] Hotel facilities
They are in Accor's economy range of hotels and unlike the budget hotels such as Formule 1 and Etap, offer 24 hour reception. The room offers a bathroom and toilet, a desk, a double or two single beds, wardrobe space, and international and local channels on the television. [2]. The hotel sometimes includes a restaurant or bar offering food early in the morning to noon (04:00-12:00), and in some hotels a 24 hour snack menu is offered. Generally, the Ibis hotels are seen as economy hotels, so Accor is endeavouring to change this by advertising all the hotel's achievements and highlighting their satisfaction guarantee.[3]
