Idress Bakhtiar is a senior Karachi-based journalist.[1] Until 2007, he was the Karachi correspondent of BBC Urdu service and the Chief Reporter of the Herald. Over the years his regular column for the monthly news magazine has attracted wide readership.[citation needed] He routinely conducts interviews with the leading political lights of his country.[citation needed] He is currently associate editor of the Herald. He also hosts a political chat show for Eye Television Network (also known as Hum TV).
