Igüeña (Spanish pronunciation: [iˈɣweɲa]) is a village and municipality located in the region of El Bierzo (province of León, Castile and León, Spain) . According to the 2010 census (INE), the municipality has a population of 1,424 inhabitants.

History [edit]

Igüeña was discovered by miners in search of coal. Sadly there was little coal in the village.

Military school of Igüeña [edit]

There is a military school located near Pico Catoute (a mountain located near the city) were many Latin Americans go to for a better life[citation needed].
