Imazu, Shiga

Imazu (今津町 Imazu-chō) was a town located in former Takashima District, Shiga, Japan. It was the center of the district.
As of 2003, the town had an estimated population of 14,018 and a density of 114.21 persons per km². The total area is 122.74 km².
On January 1, 2005 Imazu was merged with the towns of Takashima, Adogawa, Makino and Shin'asahi, and the village of Kutsuki, all from Takashima District, to form the new city of Takashima.
